Iran, Oman stress development of bilateral economic ties

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s Chief of Staff Mohammad Nahavandian stressed boosting economic cooperation between private sectors of Iran and Oman, and reiterated, “Time is ripe for improving bilateral relations between the two countries on transportation and other fields besides energy fields.”

“Iran-Oman ties have been considerably high over last two years, and we hope that the relations will be improved further in the future,” Nahavandian said in a meeting with Omani Ambassador to Iran Saud bin Ahmed bin Khalid al-Barwani.

He also said that banking cooperation between Tehran and Muscat is a key to economic and trade exchanges, and expressed the hope that bilateral banking ties between the two sides would be strengthened.

Saud bin Ahmed bin Khalid al-Barwani, for his part, emphasized raising the volume of economic and banking exchanges between the two countries.

He also said that his country is resolved to promote bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
