Qeshm, Sept 5, IRNA – Managing Director of Qesh Free Trade Zone Organization Hamidreza Momeni said on Saturday that thanks to having good neighboring relations with the Persian Gulf littoral states, Oman is to become the new trade partner for Qeshm FTZ.
Momeni made the remarks in a meeting with Omani economic delegation on Saturday.
Establishing direct Oman-Qeshm shipping line is among top priorities, and it is expected that after sisterhood of Qeshm Island and Sohar to witness further expansion of cooperation and increase in the volume of trade exchange between the two sides.
Highlighting Qeshm’s high capabilities in fuel bunkering and ship overhaul, he said completion of the project will meet the demands of littoral states such as Oman.
In the meeting, the two sides also discussed sending medical specialists from Qeshm to Oman.
Setting up rehabilitation exhibition, small markets, exchange of university professors and students, signing of joint contracts in cultural heritage, tourism, medical care and recreation in Qeshm and Oman were among topics of the agenda discussed between the two sides.
